With Kevin Smith recently revealing various returning cast members for MALLRATS 2, today has seen the writer/director confirm another familiar face who will be returning. Renee Humphrey’s Tricia Jones, aka Trish the Dish (although apparently nobody calls here that), will be back, and Smith also confirmed that Trevor Fehrman will be back as Elias for another Smith follow-up, CLERKS III. Quite frankly, these are two talents who we've criminally seen little of in recent years, so both are hugely welcome additions to their respective films.

Taking to his Facebook page, Kev posted the below image along with the caption: “TRISH THE DISH vs ELIAS! In-Real-Life couple RENEE HUMPRHEY and TREVOR FEHRMAN have a finger-battle for sequel dominance between their respective roles in MALLRATS 2 and CLERKS III! So Trevor is going back to the store and Renee is going back to the mall, y’all! 9 down, 3 to go! #MR2”

In his post Smith again refers to how many are “to go” for MALLRATS 2, by which he means returning cast members yet to sign on. As well as Renee Humphrey, it’s already been confirmed that Jason Lee is back as Brodie Bruce, Shannen Doherty as Rene Mosier, Jeremy London as T.S. Quint, Michael Rooker will be back as Jared Svenning, Ethan Suplee will be back as Willam, Stan Lee will be returning in some form, and then there will, of course, be an appearance from Jason Mewes and Smith himself as Jay and Silent Bob.

As for who the other returning names are, we'd have to guess that Ben Affleck's Shannon Hamilton and Claire Forlani's Brandi Svenning are likely, with the other possibilities being Joey Lauren Adams' Gwen, Priscilla Barnes' Miss Ivannah or maybe even Scott Mosier's Roddy. Hell, it could even be Brian O'Halloran's Gill Hicks or the Easter bunny!

No release date has been given for the film as of yet, but expect to hear more on this as it develops. All of us here at Moonbase Alpha, we absolutely cannot wait to see Brodie and the gang back and on the big screen. And then there's the equally-anticipated CLERKS III to look forward to!
