Movie News

Following the success of THE WALKING DEAD tv show, whose recent second season debut had amazing viewing figures, Fox has decided to move ahead with a series based on the movie ZOMBIELAND.

This is interesting because ZOMBIELAND was originally conceived as a TV series before ultimately becoming a movie. The movie was a success back in 2009 and is well liked amongst genre fans. They were planning on a cinematic sequel which has now been cancelled because of the TV series. It could also be that stars Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone got too big to go back to a humble horror comedy sequel.

The creative team behind the series will be the original writers and producers which is good news for fans of the movie. This could be a funny alternative to The WALKING DEAD which if it follows the comic books will get unrelentingly grim by season 4.
