It's not April 1st is it? I mean... this can't be true... Can it? Have 20th Century Fox really acquired the movie rights to a thirty-five year old, creepy-in-all-the-wrong-ways British children's show featuring a dead bearded jester, a sentient pantomime horse and a Dutch ghost who teleports when she sneezes and was played by Gail's mum from CORONATION STREET?! 

Yep.

A big-screen Hollywood re-imagining of RENTAGHOST is on its way courtesy of Ben Stiller and his Red Hour Ben production company (with the star reportedly eyeballing a lead role). 

Anybody over the age of 30 in the UK will have fond/nightmarish memories of this wonderfully strange show, but for all you younger readers scratching your heads right now, check out the stuff your mum & dad were subjected to growing up...

Actually, you know what - watching that back I think Fox might be onto something here. And I've only just got the correlation between this and BEETLEJUICE which came four years after the final series in 1984. Hmmmm... Mr Burton a fan perhap?

Next up, Warner Bros and Michael Bay to reboot METAL MICKEY...
