New BATMAN V SUPERMAN Details on Doomsday and Cyborg

Recent rumours have suggested that BATMAN V SUPERMAN may actually end up being revealed to be two movies, with the first part released in October of this year. There’s been no official word on Zack Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL follow-up becoming a two-parter, and a few people close to the production, including Henry Cavill, have played down the talk. Now comes word from Badass Digest on some potential plot details regarding the roles of Cyborg and Doomsday in the film.

Badass Digest’s Devin Faraci is believed to have read the most recent script for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, and he revealed, “There’s so much action in the second half as Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman battle Doomsday in Metropolis and Gotham that you’d end up with two very, very lopsided movies. There’s one more thing about this, and it could be a small spoiler: Ray Fisher, who plays Cyborg, said he only had scenes with Ben Affleck. I’m pretty sure Cyborg is only in this movie as a cameo, and that’s at the very, very end as Batman assembles the Justice League.”

His first point suggests that the film will not be split into two movies, as recently rumoured, due to the heavy action of the second half of the tale being so action-packed that it would make for an unbalanced two-parter. As for Doomsday, it’s long been believed that the beast responsible for the comic book death of Superman (even if it was just really a big sleep) would be a large part of the film. Still, if you’re going to use Doomsday on screen then surely it would only make sense for there to be some spin on the classic DEATH OF SUPERMAN comic arc. Remember those leaked images from months ago that seemed to be of some sort of memorial for Superman? Could it be that we’ll be getting some form of demise of the Boy Scout here? And if so, wouldn’t that be a tad early in this version of the DC Cinematic Universe? As for Cyborg’s small role, that was always presumed to be the case in this film.

It goes without saying, but treat all of the above as purely rumour for now. At present, the official word is that BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE will be released on March 25th, 2016.
