Christoph Waltz to Play Blofeld in BOND 24?

Movie News

A few weeks ago came word that two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz was to play the central villain in the next James Bond film, currently just titled BOND 24. Now comes word that the rogue he’ll be playing will be none other than Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

The Daily Mail is reporting the news, with it said that Waltz will take on the role also played by Donald Pleasance, Telly Savalas and Charles Gray during the franchise’s history. As a dispute between MGM and writer Kevin McClory over the rights to Blofeld and the SPECTRE organisation was settled last year, the inclusion of the iconic villain would certainly make sense.

Waltz will join a cast that currently includes Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Lea Seydoux and Dave Bautista. With Bautista playing the role of a hulking henchman, we’d say it’s safe to assume that Waltz’s character will be the one pulling his strings.

At present, BOND 24 is currently set for a November 6th, 2016 release, with production due to start next month.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
