3D adventure game app developer’s, Pixel Hero Games, have announced that they are developing a game based on the best selling novel, Xenos. The book, produced by Games Workshop’s publishing wing The Black Library, is very popular amongst Warhammer 40,000 fans and features the embattled Inquistor Gregor Einsenhorn, one of the more iconic characters from that franchise.

Pixel Hero Games specialise in engaging adventure games for smartphones, and their current release, the critically acclaimed Spiral Episode One , is a story based affair that utilises touch screen technology to make an fast paced but narrative driven adventure game. “We are tremendously excited to be working with Games Workshop on such a unique project” said Pixel Hero Games CEO Nader Alikhani.  “Adapting the incredibly rich source material of  Xenos into a compelling adventure game, and allowing players to experience the inner workings of the Imperium of man through Eisenhorn’s fabled eyes is an opportunity I’m sure no fan will want to miss.

Xenos is the first in a sequence of novels that focus on The Inquisition, a faction of humans that protect the galaxy spanning Imperium of Mankind from alien, demonic and heretical threats. Written by Guardians of The Galaxy scribe Dan Abnett in 2001, the book expanded the boundaries of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, adding extra depth to an information starved fan-base. Fast paced and action packed, it is an interesting choice of license for an iPhone game. Given the complexity of the later novels in the series, it will be very interesting see how this one develops.
