The Covenant, a society of aliens who firmly believed their faith would bring them salvation, wreaked havoc across the stars. Destroying worlds and wiping out armies, all hope seemed lost. A synthetically enhanced soldier known only as the Master Chief stood against the powerful alien force. With Determination, the AI construct Cortana and a brave group of marines, victory was won. For a while...

Stranded in space after a devastating battle, the Master Chief wakes from his cryo-sleep with another threat looming. The Forerunners, an ancient race with untold knowledge of technology
have returned to the galaxy. It was their technology that the Covenant tried to use for their own
ends. It was the Forerunners who built the rings known as Halo's. Their motives are unknown but they do pose a serious threat, more so than the covenant.

Halo 4 is the first in a new trilogy. It will be centred around Master Chief and his fight against the
Forerunners. It will be interesting to see how the new enemy fits into the lore of this established universe. The developers of the game, 343 Industries, have released a video which sheds some light on the new enemy, particularly how they were designed. Check it out in the player below...

You must have the Adobe Flash Player installed to view this player.

The new video comes direct from the Halo Waypoint Youtube channel. Halo Waypoint is a free media service on your Xbox 360, which allows you to watch any Halo related videos or galleries. You can also see your statistics for any Halo game you have played. You can also see the previous trailers for Halo 4 using Waypoint. These include both the gameplay and the live action trailers, all well worth a watch!

Halo 4 will be released for Xbox 360 on November 6th.
