Not got your fix of zombie slaughtering with DEAD RISING, DEAD RISING, LEFT 4 DEAD, RESIDENT EVIL, and the umpteen games that already flood the market? You're in luck!

Tonika Games is in the process of developing a first person shooter based on Filmax's popular [REC] franchise with an eye to release on iPhone, iPad, PC, Blackberry and Android (no consoles as yet sadly).

Up for it? Here's the official synopsis:

'The game will faithfully reproduce the content of much of the story, divided into four worlds, one for each part of the franchise. So, at first, users will enjoy the first two phases, which will be referring to [REC] and [REC] 2, and after which will come the third and fourth installments.

The official game of [REC] has been developed with Unity3D technology, a powerful game engine used to create products on multiple platforms, including hardcore platform PlayStation and mobile devices such as iPhone and Android.

The concept of play, a gender-based FPS (First-Person Shooter), exploits the possibilities of the 3D engine to provide the player with an immersive experience in first-person whose goal is to meet modeled scenarios and successive missions from the original locations of the films.

The design and development process took into account the very scary atmosphere of the film, employing a dynamic lighting scheme and a special surround sound library. On the other hand, the choice of weapons available for each scene and character has taken into account the component of action and violence which is also the hallmark of the franchise.'

The game will hit sometime early 2012, a snip at 2.99 euros!

[REC] 3 GENESIS opens in Spain and France March 30th. If you haven't already, check out the trailer HERE.
