Gaming News

Last week we were somewhat perplexed by the release of a mysterious teaser trailer for an upcoming secret Playstation 3 exclusive THE LAST OF US. It told us nothing of what the actual video game would be, but it certainly got people talking with its haunting use of real world news footage of a society in turmoil, with a voiceover hinting at some kind of apocalyptic scenario.

Rumours were abound that the product was to be a new take on the survival horror genre, with some predicting it would feature the Z-word. As promised, the full trailer was unveiled at this weekend’s VGAs, and turns out the scuttlebug proved almost true (these guys don’t appear to be your run of the mill undead), and it looks spectacular!

Check it out for yourselves and let us know what you think…

The Last of Us is genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature. Remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can find. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a young teenage girl who's braver and wiser beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.

Developers Naughty Dog, the awesome folk behind the UNCHARTED series, will unleash THE LAST OF US later next year.
