WATTO'S EMPORIUM Weekly Top 3

PrintE-mail Written by Jack Bottomley

Welcome once again to the movie marketplace that is Watto’s Emporium, which rounds up some of the best merch that we found across the online galaxy this week. And this week there has been an awakening, have you felt it? C’mon you must have heard about it! Yes, Star Wars is back and sorry all you guys that are fed up of hearing about it but The Force Awakens is going to be topping the headlines for a few weeks yet! It may be Christmas but what an early gift we received with J. J. Abrams’ acclaimed continuation of the Star Wars saga, which has predictably unleashed merchandising madness upon the masses, so now that the film is out (read our review here), the Emporium is stocking up on stuff from a galaxy far, far away…well from the internet (hint hint last chance Christmas pressies)…

3. BB-8 Beanie (beltsbucklestees.com, £15)

What better way to start than with one of the film’s scene stealing characters in the spherical droid BB-8? The cute little droid has already started winning over a fanbase and beltsbucklestees.com are prepared to satisfy that audience with items like this. This adorable beanie hat, inspired by the design of little droid, is a perfect Christmas (or just general) gift for the modern day Star Wars fan and is also practical for the winter weeks a head (get it? A head, because it’s a hat? Sorry).

2. Rule the Galaxy (beltsbucklestees.com, £15)

Another character stealing scenes aplenty was the new big bad Kylo Ren (played wonderfully by Adam Driver), so naturally the merch will be strong with this character. And once more, beltsbucklestees.com have you covered (literally) with this neat Kylo Ren Rule the Galaxy t-shirt that is designed almost like recruitment propaganda for the First Order. It is dark, it is cool and it is the best way to celebrate a borderline psychotic new villain.

1. Star Wars Character Tree Red Christmas Sweater (grindstore.com, £29.99)

All of you will be familiar with those often-garish Christmas jumpers that unfathomably come into fashion all of a sudden as the December holiday arrives! Well if you have ever thought that those jumpers could do with less Reindeers and more AT-ATs then here are the tops for you. Available at grindstore.com, this is one impressive…most impressive piece of Christmas themed attire. The jumper basically uses the iconic silhouettes of the Star Wars original trilogy vehicles and characters to build a white Christmas tree that even Darth Vader would go all Christmassy over. A great idea, a great design, may the force be with you this holiday season. Merry Christmas everyone!!
