Welcome once again to the movie marketplace that is Watto’s Emporium, which rounds up some of the best merch that we found across the online galaxy. This week we open the doors of the emporium and celebrate the power of the written word, a hotel that would not score highly on trip advisor and some big ass robots. Hey this is Watto’s Emporium, it doesn’t have to make sense as long as it’s cool! So with that said, prepare to scour the goodies joining this week’s weekly top 3…

3. Transformers Belt Buckles- Deceptacon/Autobot (beltsbucklestees.com, £15)

We reported earlier this week that (quelle surprise) there would be more Transformers movies (see here). In fact parts 5, 6, 7 and even 8 are confirmed and the next 10 years are all set for more Bayhem. Oh come on it’s not that bad, dry those tears because on the bright side the robots in disguise may be treated to some more blingy merch like these belt buckles from beltsbucklestees.com. Optimus Prime once said “Fate rarely calls upon us at a time of our choosing”, pretty deep stuff there but the only choice here is Deceptacon or Autobot! Although both look sweet, as trousers reinforcing gear goes.

2. Writer’s Crate- October 2015 (writercrate.com, £24)

In this age of laptops and online blogging the art form of real writing can get a little lost in translation. Gone are the days where journalists read through Everest sized piles of books, papers, and magazines and spread sheets in the name of research. Now all it takes is a Google or a cheeky look through the pages of that information temptress that is Wikipedia. Skynet really does have us by the swingers. However the folks at writercrate.com have called for a break and with their brand spanking new writer’s crate, aim to encourage people to indulge once again in the pleasures of putting ink to paper. In this lovely set (a must for the passionate writer) is a black feather quill and ink, 16 inspirational cards, a handmade leather notebook, a blue pen and a 20% discount off Gina Horkey's Online Course: "30 Days or Less to Freelance Writing Success". It’s a little bit different from our usual Emporium picks but lets face it, here at Starburst we love the vocation that is writing, how else could puns be formed were it not for the art of the written word?

1. The Shining Gift Set (santacarlaboardwalk.com, £19.49)

And that leads neater than expected into a piece of merch that celebrates a film all about a writer, well until he loses his sh*t and goes axe mad on his wife and son…writer’s block does crazy thing’s to a guy! Also, seeing as Rodney Ascher’s new sleep paralysis Horror documentary The Nightmare (read our review here) is in cinemas now, we pay tribute to Ascher’s first film Room 237- about the crazed theories behind Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining- with this The Shining gift set, that ought to help any people out there suffering from a case of “all work and no play”.  From santacarlaboardwalk.com this gift set is joyously made for fans of the Horror classic, packed with a Jack Daniel’s style Shining t-shirt, a Room 237 (or Moon Room if you subscribe to that theory) key ring, an Overlook hotel hedge map (if only Jack had picked one up in the film) and a photo of the July 4th ball. This is the kind of gift set that we’d like to see being made forever, and ever, and ever!
