Welcome once again to the movie marketplace that is Watto’s Emporium, which rounds up some of the best merch that we found across the online galaxy. This week we go brand mashing, commemorating a fallen super heroine and celebrating a bedazzling advancement in geek tech! So set forth as our sail barge of gear gets a moving in our weekly look at the best of the net…

3. Batman (Batgirl Distressed) T-Shirt (alltheheroes.co.uk, £7.99)

Starburst was saddened this past week to hear of the passing of Yvonne Craig (read more about her career right here), who famously portrayed Batgirl in the iconic 60s Batman: The TV Series. Over the years the Batgirl character has been difficult to translate to the big screen but Craig was memorable in her portrayal of the character and added a further dose of fun to a fondly remembered show. So celebrate her memory and her character with this cool Batgirl centred shirt from alltheheroes.co.uk, which is affordable and a must-have for any self-respecting aspiring female crime fighter. RIP Yvonne Craig and thank you for the fond memories.

2. Back From the Pitt T-Shirt (teefury.com, $20USD)

Lucasfilm’s newest film Strange Magic (which you can read all about in our new issue) may not have been the right kind of magic for the studio but no worries because Star Wars will live forever. So in the wake of the merchandising madness that will undeniably ensue very soon as The Force Awakens, here is something a little bit different from teefury.com. This gorgeously designed shirt is an original creation from Six-Eyed Monster and combines the expanded universe stories of Boba Fett surviving his tumble into the Sarlaac (or big sand minge as Justin Lee Collins once called it) in Return of the Jedi with the instantly recognisable front cover art to Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead. Yep, it’s Star Wars meets Evil Dead in a selection of colours, what more could you possibly want?!

1. Dr. Who Sonic Screwdriver Remote Control (thewandcompany.com, £59.99)

If you haven’t had chance to pick up our latest issue yet (see details on Issue 416 here), then here is a bit of a taste with one of Watto’s Emporium’s star items in this Tenth Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote Control from the geek wish fulfillers at thewandcompany.com. This simply dazzling item previewed at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2013, to unsurprising acclaim. This is a beautifully designed bit of kit that should satisfy the legions of fans of all things Doctor (in fact the current Capaldi era Doctor graces Issue 416’s cover!). The control is gesture based and compatible with everything from your Blu-Ray to your i-pod, with a built in key code activated lock and voice guided set-up, this is so futuristic, even the Doctor himself might be tempted to pop into his Tardis and head down to the shop for an upgrade!

Be sure to keep an eye out every week for our pick of the top 3 funnest, funkiest and freakiest finds in our online merchandising explorations!
