Event News

As part of this year’s 20th Bradford International Film Festival, the Horror-themed Bradford After Dark selection returns. Sponsored by the Boris Karloff Charitable Foundation, the Bradford After Dark films reliably offer a selection of the odd, the dark and the nasty and this year is no different. The celebratory 20th Bradford Film Festival takes place from the 27th March – 6th April 2014 within the multi-screen National Media Museum (full venues can be seen via the website) and Bradford After Dark Screenings will occur dotted through the programme and all take place in the Pictureville screen of the Museum.

The first After Dark screening will be Randy Moore’s daring Disneyland-set nightmare Escape From Tomorrow on the 28th March, at 22:10. The film will be preceded (as will most screenings) by a selection of short films; on this occasion the innovative shorts Holiday and Neon Spread. Then on the 29th March at 22:00, there will be a screening of Elliot Goldner’s well-received found footage chiller The Borderlands, with short film, Double Graffiti screening beforehand. On the 3rd of April at 22:55 will be an After Dark showing of Matthew Johnson’s faux documentary The Dirties, a portrayal of teen persecution and its deadly consequences. Before the screening, short films Prepare for the Enlightenment and Comfortable will be shown.

Then on the 4th of April at 22:15, there is a screening of Jacob Vaughan’s much-anticipated Horror/Comedy Bad Milo (yes, the one about an arse-dwelling creature). Accompanied by the disturbingly comedic short film Auto Bambino. The final Bradford After Dark screening will take place on the 5th of April at 22:35, with a screening of the extreme Dark Comedy/Thriller from E.L Katz Cheap Thrills. Which comes with short film Filth, showing beforehand.
