Hot on the heels of the successful Grimmfest horror Festival in Manchester in October, Grimm Up North are back with some deliciously dark delights for the run-up to the festive season to hopefully take your minds off the cold turkey and mulled wine  in store over Christmas itself. Because horror’s not just for Hallowe’en…

Grimm Up North will be presenting three movie premiers and one 1980s schlock Christmas classic to tantalise your tinselly taste buds as we head towards Christmas

December 14th sees the North West premier of the acclaimed VHS, the horror anthology which brings together modern genre masters such as Ti West, Glen McQuaid and Adam Wingard as well as the cult 1980s low budget slasher classic Christmas Evil. On 21st December Grimm Up North will premier the disturbing Canadian sci-fi/psychological horror The Corridor in a ‘double bill’ with new low budget British horror film When the Lights Went Out, filmed entirely in Yorkshire. Both events are held at the Dancehouse Theatre in Manchester’s Oxford Road, doors open at approximately 7.15pm and there’ll be a special Big Screen Christmas Quiz on the 21st. Bargains galore too as the Grimm shop be selling off stock at incredibly cheap prices (the ideal place to find stocking-fillers for the gore-hound of the family) and the bar will be open for a festive tipple or two between movies.
