Event News

Excitement is mounting for the upcoming S.H.A.D.O.Con - but there’s some sadness, too, as scriptwriter Ruric Powell, who was to have been a guest, sadly died recently.

However, the event has two new guests confirmed - Gary Raymond (Col Grey in the episode The Man Who Came Back) and Susan Jameson (horserider Anne Stone in The Sound of Silence). Susan is known to viewers in recent years for her role as the wife of Alun Armstrong's alcoholic detective called out of retirement in New Tricks.

Three episodes are planned to be screened during the day - The Dalotek Affair (written by Ruric), The Sound of Silence (guest stars Michael Jayston and Susan Jameson) and The Man Who Came Back (with Gary).

S.H.A.D.O.Con is the first UK convention for the show in over thirty years and takes place on Saturday, June 3rd at the Derby Quad Cinema.

Among others already confirmed to attend are veteran star Michael Jayston, series regular Ayshea Brough (who played Lt. Ayshea Johnson), Keith Alexander (Lt. Ford), and Shane Rimmer - who appeared in three UFO episodes and was the voice of Scott Tracy in Anderson’s Thunderbirds.

As well as the guests, there will be displays from model makers and dealers' tables, screenings of episodes and a raffle in aid of the convention’s nominated charity, Macmillan Cancer Support. The guests will also be available for autograph sessions.

Tickets for the event are priced £45 and are available here.
