DREDD Chief Judge Heading to Sci-Fi Scarborough

Sci-Fi Scarborough has landed the Chief Judge from Dredd (2012) played by Rakie Ayola, who will be attending the popular event on Sunday 9th April to help celebrate the 40th anniversary of 2000 AD, talk all things Dredd and, of course, sit astride the actual Lawmaster bike from the movie for that all important photo opportunity.

Rakie has also appeared in Doctor Who, Black Mirror, Sea of Souls, EastEnders, Casualty & Holby City and has many film credits to her name.

Co-organiser Steve Dickinson said of the announcement, “To be adding a guest of this calibre at this late stage if fantastic news, Dredd is an excellent movie, I can’t wait to see the Chief Judge in action. It’s an absolute coup for SFS.”


Sci-Fi Scarborough is back for the fourth year in the beautiful Victorian Spa Complex over the weekend of Sat and Sun April 8/9th. With their magical mix of amazing guests, authors, movie and TV props, console, retro and table top gaming, comic book artists, indie films, Cosplay competition, panels, software developers, geek pub quiz, live music, collectible traders, Saturday night party and more content than ever.

Other confirmed guests are Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred, Gareth David-Lloyd, Joe Lidster, David Warner, Garrick Hagon, Tim Rose, Jon Campling, Andrew-Lee Potts, Richard Oldfield, Liza Ross, Pam Rose and Clem So.

The event runs from Saturday, April 8th 10am-6pm with the geek pub quiz, party and live music from 6.30pm till late, and Sunday, April 9th 10am-6pm.

Day tickets are £15 (under 12s £5 Students £10) Weekend passes are £25 and under 5s go free
