ROAD TO PERDITION/DOCTOR WHO Artist Comes to Sci-Fi Scarborough 2017

Sci-Fi Scarborough has confirmed that local comic book artist Richard Piers Rayner will be appearing at the popular event on April 8th/9th at Scarborough Spa, joining the huge guest list of famous actors and artists for a weekend of geeky fun by the sea.

Richard began his professional comic career in 1988, illustrating for DC Comics and Marvel Comics. His works include Hellblazer, Swamp Thing, L.E.G.I.O.N, Doctor Fate, and Doctor Who. His most notable work is Road to Perdition, which was adapted into a film in 2002, starring Tom Hanks, and directed by Sam Mendes.

He is also a frequent contributor to the DC publications, Paradox Press, and is the artist in residence at Middlesbrough FC. In November 2008 he wrote and illustrated Middlesbrough FC - The Unseen History.

Richard joins Russell Payne, Gary Erskine, and Nick Brokenshire as comic book artist guests for the weekend with more to announce.

Sci-Fi Scarborough is back for the fourth year in the beautiful Victorian Spa Complex over the weekend of April 8th/9th. With their magical mix of amazing guests, authors, movie & TV props, console, retro & table top gaming, comic book artists, indie films, Cosplay competition, panels, software developers, geek pub quiz, live music, collectible traders, Saturday night party and more content than you can ever imagine.

Other confirmed guests are Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred, Gareth David-Lloyd, Garrick Hagon, Tim Rose, Jon Campling & Andrew-Lee Potts, Richard Oldfield, Liza Ross, Pam Rose & Clem So.

The event runs from Saturday 8th April 10am-6pm with the geek pub quiz, party & live music from 6.30pm till late, and Sunday 9th April 10am-6pm.

Day tickets £15 (under 12s £5 Students £10) Weekend £25 under 5s go free. Tickets on sale from www.scarboroughspa.co.uk.
