Fans of Doctor Who and cult TV are looking forward to spending a fun-filled Sunday afternoon in the company of Bob Baker, the writer who introduced the world to K9, as he appears at Manchester’s Fab Café.

As well as writing thirty-eight episodes of the classic BBC series - spanning five different incarnations of the Doctor - Bob has famously co-written the Wallace and Gromit films for Aardman Animation.

Matt Charlton will be grilling Baker about his work - which also includes cult kids’ TV series Sky and King of the Castle - and getting to the bottom of his work on Doctor Who. With Bob having written such popular serials such as The Three Doctors, The Hand of Fear (in which Sarah Jane Smith first left the TARDIS), as well as The Invisible Enemy, where we first met the Tin Dog himself, K9.

A long and varied life in TV will bring up many special stories, and fans will get a chance to ask Bob anything that might be niggling them, as well autograph opportunities and a chance to buy some great merchandise. Copies of Bob’s book, K9 Stole My Trousers will be available on the day.

Bob’s novelisations of Sky and King of the Castle are also available from Fantom Films Publishing.

Fab Café - The World's First Cult Film and TV bar - is located on Portland Street in Manchester, and this event is open to all ages, so bring the kids!

Bob will be appearing at Manchester’s Fab Café on Sunday, April 24th at 2pm. Tickets are available online now for £5, or £6 on the door if there’s available space!
