Event News

The organisers behind popular genre book day Edge-Lit have launched a new event just in time for Christmas. Sledge-Lit promises to deliver workshops, talks, panels and books launches just before Christmas.

Sledge-Lit will take place at the Derby Quad (in Derby, England) on Saturday November 21st. The Guests of Honour include Charles Stross (The Laundry, Marchant Princess), Adam Roberts (Bête and Jack Glass), Alison Moore (The Lighthouse, He Wants) and Doctor Who scriptwriter Robert Shearman.

Like its sister event Edge-Lit, the wintery themed Sledge-Lit promises to be an unmissable event for word nerds across the UK.  Not only is the event packed with genre authors from all over the country, it also tends to have a large number of people from all levels of the publishing industry attending. A number of workshops will be available on the day, providing useful insights for anyone who fancies becoming an author in their own right.

Other guests include Stephen Aryan, Tony Ballantyne, Andrew Bannister, Jacey Bedford, Susan Boulton, Alex Davis, Rod Duncan, Charlie Fletcher, Julia Knight, Simon Marshall-Jones, Thana Niveau, Marie O'Regan, Steven Poore, Natasha Pulley, Amanda Rutter and Gavin Smith.

STARBURST firmly recommends Sledge-Lit to anyone who likes reading good fiction and wants to know more. These events do tend to sell out, so we advise that you book tickets here.
