Starburst Readers & Writers Party - 2012

200 of you are cordially invited to the Starburst Readers' and Writers' Party - 2012...

It has been an extraordinary year for Starburst Magazine. We managed to make the jump back from online to print in the wake of one of the worst recessions in history.
Within 4 issues of our return - we achieved WH Smiths Newsstand distribution. Starburst is now on course to regain the readership it had in it's heyday.

Now I am not going to say it was easy. We had a radical new format that surprised many. We also had a radical agenda to focus once again on the heritage of the genre, and not the latest hit (or more often miss) show or fad from the US. We also came back at a time when print magazines were losing out to the same online format we were leaving. We just dived straight in and every month we worked like mad to bring you the very best magazine of sci-fi, horror and fantasy, that we were capable of.

The response during the last 9 months has been incredible. It seems that the affection for Starburst never went away. The entire Editorial staff could not be more grateful (or relieved).

There are two sets of people that made all of this possible (the title of this event kinda gives it away), and it's time to say "thank you" in the only way that makes sense - we're throwing a big party!

The first annual Starburst Readers' and Writers' Party begins at 5pm on Saturday 27th October 2012 in Manchester (right next to Starburst HQ). All of the Starburst Editorial Team will be there (including myself, Kris Heys and our honorary Editor-In-Chief - Dez Skinn). All of the Starburst Writers are invited guests - along with some of the Industry people that help make things happen in our favourite genre. It's an opportunity to meet the people behind the magazine, and stay up dead late having lots of fun times.

Whilst we can't fit everyone in -we have 200 places for our Readers. How to get a ticket? Email party2012@starburstmagazine.com with your name and address details. You will be emailed back with a confirmation and details if you were one of the first 200 we receive. We can only guarantee a pair of tickets for each email, and this is strictly on a first come, first served basis. So if you want to come it's important to get your email in asap.

Thanks to all of you for helping to get Starburst back into orbit. Hopefully I can thank you in person.
