Comic News: IDW Producing STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Prequel Series…

To get us into the mood for J.J. Abrams’ highly anticipated STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS (still unsure about that title) comic book publishers IDW will debut a new canonical series subtitled COUNTDOWN TO DARKNESS. Due to hit shelves in January, the mini-series will feature a script co-penned by the film’s writer Roberto Orci and the writer of IDW’s ongoing STAR TREK series Mike Johnson, while Italian artist David Messina (ANGEL; STAR TREK) handles art duties.

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS opens in cinemas May 17th.
