After the success of GoodCopBadCop at last year’s True Believers/Eagles awards, Star Trek Manga and Wolf Country scribe Jim Alexander has chalked up another success, making the shortlist for the Scottish Independent Comic Book Alliance (SICBA) best graphic novel 2015 with Amongst the Stars.

The philosophical and weighty story boasted tight, intelligent writing and art from Deathlok and Astonishing X-Men’s Mike Perkins. To celebrate, publisher Planet Jimbot has put together a free downloadable sampler which features five pages of the impressive story. If you’re wowed over by its charming sci-fi weirdness, the entire graphic novel is available via the Planet Jimbot website for the special SICBA price of £5.50.

The vote is public and details can be found here. Now into its fifth year, SICBA seeks to celebrate and expand the Scottish comic book industry. The winners will be announced on July 4th in Glasgow.

The sampler can be downloaded here.
